With over 20 years of experience in immigration law, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals, families, businesses, and organizations navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration system. As immigration law is federal law, I am licensed to practice in all 50 states, offering comprehensive legal services regardless of your location.
Before establishing my private practice in 2009, I served as an immigration attorney at the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence, where I provided legal services and trained prosecutors, law enforcement, and community advocates on human trafficking and immigration law. My commitment to advocacy and justice extends beyond legal representation—I believe in empowering my clients with knowledge and strategic solutions tailored to their unique circumstances.
My academic journey began at the University of Chicago, where I earned a B.A. in Anthropology with honors in 1997. After further studies in Taiwan, I worked at Bloomberg and the New York Asian Women’s Center, assisting immigrant survivors of domestic abuse. I earned my J.D. from the University of Virginia in 2004, where I was recognized as a Linda Fairstein Public Service Fellow, Equal Justice Fellow, Public Interest Law Association Fellow, Claire M. Corcoran Award Recipient, and Raven Society member.
Born in South Korea, I spent my childhood in Bangladesh before coming to the U.S. as a student on F-1 visa in 1987. I am proficient in Korean and have basic conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. My multicultural background informs my approach to immigration law, allowing me to connect with clients from diverse communities with empathy and understanding.
I am a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and remain committed to providing personalized, strategic, and results-driven immigration services to my clients.
